Friendly Faces

Lauren and I had been talking about headshots for months, working against a fast-approaching deadline (I was moving overseas at the end of the season), but the opportunity kept slipping through the cracks of our shared free time.

We were both in desperate need of an update and I was looking forward to the collaboration, no matter its small scale. I was, after all, going to have to hand over the camera if I wanted some shots as well - not something I make a habit out of, I much prefer to stay behind the lens.

Finally, on my last afternoon at home, we scrambled to turn the living room into a makeshift studio - lit exclusively by natural light, with a stool dragged in from the kitchen as our only prop.

A long-time goal of mine has been to complete a portrait project of the faces - and, more importantly, people - I hold most dear, and I suppose this is as good a place to start as any.
